Research Assistance Service

We are pleased to begin offering limited assistance to you in your research efforts by providing copies of materials that you might not otherwise have access to locally.

Research requests are by US mail only, no email requests can be accepted. Please include your email address in your letter to help us ask follow-up questions; also, place your return address on your letter. Make your check, payable in US Funds only, out to Dr. Paul S. Valasek.

Please note: We do not have birth, marriage, death, immigration or naturalization records.

Many of the requested records are in Polish. Copies of records provided to the researcher will not be translated into English. A translation guide and/or a list of translators will be sent with the research copies.

Please be specific in your letter so the volunteer can easily determine your request.

The services provided by PolishRoots volunteers for a fee is limited and will cover the following areas:

Dziennik Chicagoski obits	$5.00 per obit
Polish Army in France recruitment papers	$10.00 per recruit
Town searches	$5.00 per town name
Slownik Geograficzny entries	$5.00 each, with limited translated guide enclosed
Surname search and frequency in Poland	$5.00 per surname
Heraldry	$5.00 per name
Any other requests, considered on an individual basis	Fee schedule upon request
